The project aims to eradicate two species of Invasive Non-Native (INNS; Japanese knotweed and giant hogweed) within two locations in the Loch Lomond catchment; Endrick Water and Blane Water. Methods of eradication are to follow Scottish Invasive Species Initiative and SEPA guidelines.
The proposed works will take place at two locations along the rivers Endrick Water and Blane Water. The sites cover approx. 25 kilometres of river length. Exact site details can be requested by emailing [email protected].
Landowner permission has been secured by the Trust.
The works for Giant hogweed must be delivered within the months of May and June 2025, at the start of the summer pre-budding. The works for Japanese knotweed must be delivered by late autumn (by October 2025).
Contractors must have a NPTC accredited PA1/PA6/PA6W or equivalent qualification for the application of pesticides using handheld equipment near a watercourse and at least 1 year of experience delivering similar projects.
Contractors are responsible for compliance with all Health and Safety legislation. Contractors must provide a full Risk Assessment and provide staff with appropriate PPE.
After completion of the works, a site visit will be organised with a Trust representative before the project will be determined as completed.
Candidates should deliver a concise tender focusing on the proposed work and budget, highlighting the proposed methodology, a clear timetable for the work and the experience of staff. A Risk Assessment / Health & Safety document and copies of relevant qualifications listed above should also be included.

Tenders will be assessed based on the proposed methodology, relevant experience and overall value for money.
Payment will be made on satisfactory completion of the contract, as determined by the Trust. Payment may be withheld if the delivery is not considered to be satisfactory. Payment terms are 30 days from submission of invoice. The contractor will be paid by BACs (bank details will be required).
